After a comprehensive examination, the date of the operation was set - October 29, 2020. From that day on, my suffering began.
I will not describe the procedure, because a lot depends on the chosen technology. At the same time, the procedure is shown in great detail in a number of videos on YouTube and on the Internet. Let me just say that StreamLight technology is essentially a non-contact Lasek, where the surgeon just drips his eyes and wipes them.
The recovery process was very long for me. Therefore, now I will tell you about all the pitfalls that arose after the correction.
I'll start on a daily basis, describing the treatment and my own feelings in parallel.
1st day after correction. I did not feel pain, my eyes were watering slightly.
2nd day. I did not feel anything special, except for the tiredness of my eyes.
3-5 days. It was terrible. The eyes were watering every second, which provoked the accumulation of tears even in the nose. Constant nasal discharge interfered with my breathing, which interfered with my sleep. During these days, it took 3 packs of paper socks.
5th day. They removed the lens. Photophobia was palpable, I could not look out the window even in foggy weather.
These days, Uniflox and Vitamin C were dripping as directed.
From the 6th day, Medexol (usual dexamethasone), Tealoz Duo (moisturizers) and Cornergel (in fact, panthenol) were dripping.
6-10 days. Snot and lacrimation began to pass, for this I washed my nose with water and salt (yes, as we do with ARVI, to dry it). I could breathe again 😅. The quality of vision began to improve. At the reception on the 10th day, right and left saw 7 lines!
In the days that followed, there were periodically tingling sensations in the eyes, very strong, as if with a needle, began abruptly and ended abruptly. Was accompanied by pain with lacrimation.
The veil before the eyes after the operation was only on the right eye, and slept only on 11/18/2020.
I lived like this for a month, but I want to draw your attention to the fact that the right eye saw better than the left and the sudden pain was only 1 time. At the same time, discomfort was felt on the left eye even without pain, and the vision floated and doubled. Note that near vision was good in both eyes and did not change at all.
Starting December 04, 2020, the left eye has rapidly overtaken the right! Yes, I saw them all 10 lines, and clearly, without double vision and out of focus.
But the right eye remained, which, I thought, could see well against the background of the left, but it turned out to be the other way around ...
After admission on 11/12/2020, the result was as follows: the left one - 100%, and the right one - 85% (although I clearly saw only 7 lines).
In addition to visual acuity, I will describe the rest of the visual defects of the Right eye:
1. Very reluctant to focus on objects in the distance.
2. Nebula of vision (everything floats, except for near).
3. At dusk and at night I really don't see anything at all, for example, the building opposite my house is just distorted and cloudy.
4. The halo effect is much stronger and more voluminous than on the left eye.
On 08/01/2021, I woke up with another deterioration. The right eye was pricked and watery, and there was also a wild photophobia, as after the operation. Having gone to an appointment, they prescribed Metamax drops, based on dexamethasone. The reason for this phenomenon was not explained to me, citing inflammation. Although there was no suppuration, no swelling of the eyelids, and there were no other symptoms! I didn't really like it.
A month was dripped according to the prescribed dosage reduction scheme. Tears and photophobia are gone. However, the vision did not improve. Moisturizing drops TealozDuo continue to actively drip to this day (4-6 times a day), as soon as I feel dry.
After another control in February, I saw only 3 lines on the right eye, while the left one saw 10. I was shocked, how could they have corrected that vision remained at the same level.
Only in January, I began to sit at the PC more actively, since remote work appeared, in addition, I was writing a master's thesis for defense. He worked 6 hours a day, while every hour he took a significant break from the monitor (the breaks reached up to an hour). My monitor is modern, with eye protection and the ability to set a yellow light, sitting behind the monitor after the operation has become farther than the distance of an outstretched arm ...
The result of the next appointment on 03/05/2021 - we talked about additional correction. However, I waited until the end of March due to the fact that I suffered inflammation (I wrote about it above, it was 01/08/2021), because it takes 3 months from the inflammation.
According to the results of control procedures, residual myopia in the range of -0.5 was revealed in the right eye. I was assigned the date of additional correction on 04/15/2021 without any problems. The second vision correction lasted quickly, after 5-7 minutes I was already free. The anesthesia also went away quickly and an hour later wild pains and lacrimation began in the right eye.
At home, having taken "nimesil", I fell asleep, and after waking up, the pain subsided to simple unpleasant sensations. Then I suffered from tears and cuts for two more days, although the first time it lasted all five days until the lens was removed. In addition, the level of pain was noticeably lower.
On 04/20/2021, the lens was removed, the surface of the eye was noticeably rough, but I felt good to see. By the way, photophobia began to recede already on the 6th day.
04/27/2021 came for an eye test. The right eye saw 7 lines, although I thought it would be better, all because of the veil, which appeared abruptly that day from the very morning and did not allow to see into the distance for a whole month.
Comparing the sensations with the first laser correction, this time the recovery process was painless: there were no cuts, the sensations of a foreign body did not appear either, and photophobia went away much faster than when I did it in two eyes at once.
The treatment remained the same, only at the beginning of the course of medexol, I dripped it for 10 days, instead of 7 (they said at the clinic).
Of the obvious side effects, there was only a terrible veil (fog, or call it what you want). At the same time, my 7 lines, which I saw after the first vision correction, were already much clearer.
A month later, I became very worried about the veil, thinking to make an appointment earlier. Having suffered a little more, from 05/21/2021 the veil began to gradually go away, and the vision began to improve. By the way, on May 21, 22 and 23, I walked all day in the occluder, training my right eye.
On 05/26/2021, another control took place, on which the right eye saw 100%! I am incredibly happy that pre-correction (repeated laser correction) helped me!
As of 06/14/2021, I see the same with both eyes! At the same time, I still continue to actively drip moisturizing drops and do exercises.
07/07/2021 I went to the clinic for control (this is the last appointment 3 months after the second intervention on the right eye), which confirmed the complete restoration of vision in both eyes. Yes, my dear two eyes saw 100%, and I see all the outlines, brightness and saturation of letters in the table at the same level. Now the differences between the eyes have disappeared, as a result of which all discomfort has disappeared.
In my daily life, I continue to use moisturizing drops 3 times a day. There is no need for them anymore, but thanks to them I feel better, because during the day no unpleasant sensations appear in my eyes.
Eyesight is kept at a good level all day long, even if you work a lot at the computer. In the late afternoon, vision is also excellent, but after work it may take time to focus (nothing special, since the muscles get tired during the day). But after the evening exercises for the eyes I feel relief.
The detail of objects is perfect, nothing floats, colors do not fade, the quality of the "picture" is so steep that even after a while I am not overjoyed at my new "ability" to see 100%! At first I was upset that I had to endure torment in the form of pain and repeated treatment twice, but after a long period I still do not regret a bit that I decided to correct my vision by performing Lasek StreamLight correction.
Therefore, I advise you to do Laser vision correction, but only in proven clinics, which responsible for the result and can help in case of an unforeseen course of the recovery process.
